New Year’s Resolutions for a New Smile

The new year is here, and as we wave goodbye to 2017, we welcome 2018 with our own hopes, goals, and resolutions that will make this the best year yet. Most resolutions typically fall into the category of self-improvement, whether it’s quitting a bad habit, picking up a good one, or trying something new altogether. Eating healthier or going to the gym are a few common New Year’s resolutions, but if you’re really looking for some improvement in your life, set a goal to achieve a healthier, straighter smile through orthodontic treatment.

If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and were dissatisfied with how your smile looked, try imagining a future where you look in the same mirror and light up when you see a perfect, radiant smile shining back at you. Beyond that, there are many benefits that come with getting a new smile that are gifts that keep on giving throughout the rest of your life. Your local smile experts here at Morita Orthodontics have put together this quick guide about why you should consider a smile transformation as one of your New Year’s resolutions for 2018.

A Straighter Smile Is A Healthier Smile

If you have teeth that are crooked or misaligned, even the best oral hygiene of thorough brushing, flossing, and rinsing often won’t be able to get the food particles or bacteria that are trapped. That’s because crowding often creates pockets that are extremely hard to reach and clean, making you more susceptible to things like tooth decay, gum disease, infection, and even worse health problems if left untreated.

On the other side of things, if you straighten your teeth with a treatment such as braces or Invisalign, those hard to reach areas no longer exist and it becomes much easier to keep your smile clean and healthy. If you had a click in your jaw or ever felt uncomfortable when eating or talking, those problems will now be gone as your jaw and teeth are perfectly aligned in the positions that they were always meant to be in.

A Confident Smile For The New Year

If you’ve ever felt self-conscious of your smile, or if you’ve felt jealous when you saw someone who had a perfect smile, orthodontic treatment can help you finally achieve that perfectly straight and radiant smile that you’ve always wanted. Most patients who complete orthodontic treatment experience a boost in self-confidence. No longer having to worry about hiding your smile will feel like a weight lifted off of your shoulders, leaving you feeling invigorated and ready to take on any of the challenges that the new year dares to try to throw your way. You’ll take on everything with a big, bright smile.

Notice of Temporary Closure

RE: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

To our valued patients,

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), President Trump, the American Dental Association and the Hawaii Dental Association are recommending all dentists postpone nonemergency dental procedures for 2 weeks. Our practice is committed to protecting the community and avoiding using valuable resources that our first responders and frontline healthcare providers will need.

Our office will be closed effective today, Wednesday, March 18, and we plan to resume regular hours on Wednesday, April 1. If you are experiencing a true dental emergency including swelling or severe tooth pain, please call your general dentist office, and listen closely as emergency contact info will be available. For all nonemergent questions, please email us at [email protected].

We are so sorry for the burden this places on your schedules, but your continued health and safety are our number one priority. Our office is working diligently to reschedule all patients with existing appointments within the next 2 weeks. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves and determine on a weekly basis when it is appropriate for us to return to normal orthodontic patient care. We ask for your compassion and understanding at this time as we all work together to keep Hawaii healthy.

Sincerely,

Your Morita Orthodontics Ohana
