At Morita Orthodontics, our mission is to help patients throughout Honolulu and Aiea, HI achieve beautiful, healthy smiles through convenient orthodontic treatment. Our orthodontists and highly-trained team work hard to create personalized treatment plans for each one of our patients, and we strive to make treatment convenient for any lifestyle. If you’re looking for the most discreet, convenient, and low-impact option to achieve your new smile, it may be time to consider Invisalign clear aligners.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a modern, extremely convenient way to straighten teeth that serves as an alternative to traditional metal braces. Instead of metal brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of custom transparent and removable aligners to straighten the teeth. Invisalign aligners fit directly onto the dental arch and are nearly invisible when worn, which means they won’t show up in photos and most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. Moreover, because there are no wires or brackets used with Invisalign, there is nothing present to poke, pinch or irritate your mouth; these are all common problems with conventional metal braces.

What Is Invisalign Treatment Like?

As an Invisalign patient, you’ll get your own custom-made series of aligners that gradually move your teeth step-by-step until they’re in the final position prescribed by your orthodontist. Each aligner in the series is precisely-calibrated to fit over your teeth at each stage of your treatment plan and apply a fine-tuned force to shift your teeth into the right positions.

The entire Invisalign treatment process consists of four simple steps:

1

Schedule a consultation at our Honolulu or Aiea orthodontics office to find out if you're a candidate for Invisalign.

2

If you are a candidate for Invisalign, your Honolulu orthodontist will send precise treatment instructions to Align Technology, the maker of Invisalign.

3

The aligners will custom-crafted for you according to the treatment plan devised by your orthodontist.

4

You'll wear each set of aligners 22 hours per day for approximately two-three weeks for the duration of your treatment. You are only to remove the aligners when eating and when cleaning your teeth.

As you switch to each new set of aligners, your teeth will gradually shift closer to their final positions, bringing you closer to a new smile. When you finish your last set of aligners, your new smile will be complete – and you’ll get to enjoy it for a lifetime.

RE: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

To our valued patients,

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), President Trump, the American Dental Association and the Hawaii Dental Association are recommending all dentists postpone nonemergency dental procedures for 2 weeks. Our practice is committed to protecting the community and avoiding using valuable resources that our first responders and frontline healthcare providers will need.

Our office will be closed effective today, Wednesday, March 18, and we plan to resume regular hours on Wednesday, April 1. If you are experiencing a true dental emergency including swelling or severe tooth pain, please call your general dentist office, and listen closely as emergency contact info will be available. For all nonemergent questions, please email us at [email protected].

We are so sorry for the burden this places on your schedules, but your continued health and safety are our number one priority. Our office is working diligently to reschedule all patients with existing appointments within the next 2 weeks. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves and determine on a weekly basis when it is appropriate for us to return to normal orthodontic patient care. We ask for your compassion and understanding at this time as we all work together to keep Hawaii healthy.

Sincerely,

Your Morita Orthodontics Ohana
